The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has donated $3 million to the World Wildlife Fund to help double the number of tigers in Nepal within the next nine years.

Oprah Winfrey auctioned off many of her personal belongings Saturday at the Santa Barbara Polo & Raquet Club in Carpinteria, Calif. The final sales figures aren’t in yet but so far more than $600,000 has been raised with proceeds to benefit the Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa . . .

Ten-time grammy-award winning singer-songwriter-activist Chaka Khan has returned to Chicago for a celebratory weekend. A section of Blackstone Avenue, near Hyde Park Boulevard, has a new honorary name: “Chaka Khan Way,” and the sign was unveiled Saturday. Khan is overjoyed about the new sign on Blackstone and will express her thanks by giving a free concert in Chicago’s Millennium Park on Sunday, the first of a yearly event . . .
