They are written on White House note paper and each one states “Thanks for your prayers and support” and are signed “B.O.” . . .

ROY, Wash. – Tyler James Deutsch, 25, is being held on $1 million bail for allegedly putting his six-week-old daughter in a freezer. He was charged Tuesday on three counts: first-degree child assault, first-degree criminal mistreatment and interfering with the reporting of a domestic violence incident. . . .

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, on Tuesday called his mother for the first time since his arrest.

After speaking with him, Zubiedat Tsarnaeva’s assessment of her son is that he’s recuperating and sounds “normal,” according to a Bloomberg.com report . . .

Chinese baby rescued from sewer pipe; mother has custody, won’t be charged

A baby boy who was rescued from a sewer pipe in the city of Jinhua, Zhejiang province, in eastern China, is miraculously healthy and has been released from Pujiang People’s Hospital Thursday into the care of his mother and a man claiming to be his father.

His mother, an unidentified woman, 22, delivered him while sitting on a “squat” toilet (a large hole in the floor) and “accidentally” flushed him into the pipe . . .

A “black widow” suicide bomber, Madina Alieva, 25, blew herself up and injured 18 others in the southern Russian region of Dagestan Saturday. Russians refer to such women as “black widows” because their spouses were killed by security forces . . .

Grant Alan Acord, 17, was arrested Saturday, for allegedly building bombs with the intent of blowing up West Albany High School, in Albany, Ore. He is a junior at the school, located about 75 miles south of Portland, and was inspired by the Columbine massacre, authorities say . . .

Ibragim Todashev, 26, an ethnic Chechen man who knew Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the dead Boston bombing suspect, was fatally shot Tuesday in Orlando, Fla., by an unidentified FBI agent. The agent had questioned Ibragim’s friend, Khusen Taramov, earlier in the day allowing him to leave. When he returned later, he found Ibragim had been shot dead . . .

Andrea Rebello, 21, a Hofstra University student, was killed by a police bullet at an off-campus house in Uniondale, N.Y. as a masked intruder held a loaded gun to her head then aimed at the officer, according to Nassau County police. Initial reports indicated the intruder killed the student . . .
