  1. What irritates me most about this “non-story” is that I’ve heard at least a dozen supposedly reputable journalists, including Brian Williams of NBC, parade their ignorance about the meaning of the term “lip synch”. Lip synching is when you mime a performance to a pre-recorded vocal track, like Milli Vanilli or Britney Spears. It’s obviously Beyonce singing live. She even takes out her ear monitor during the performance because the echo from the speakers is throwing off her timing. She’s just singing to a pre-recorded music track!

    1. It’s a “non-story” to some, but for me, but as a citizen-journalist, I chose to write about it. I’m going to research the various definitions of “lip sync,” then I’ll write another response/email you. Because Beyonce takes out the ear monitor doesn’t mean she’s singing; it could very well be part of “the act,” if there is an act. Again, I’ll do some additional research on lip syncing.

Thank you for reading and commenting; I’ll definitely visit your blog.

    2. You’re right, InvisibleMikey. Because Beyonce used a pre-recorded track to bolster her live vocals, technically, she wasn’t lip syncing. She has told the story behind the “non-story” lip syncing controversy:

      http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/01/31/170774920/beyonc-on-lip-syncing-i-did-not-feel-comfortable-taking-a-risk?ft=1&f=1001

Now the mainstream press is saying she admitted to lip syncing, but she didn’t; she said she sang along with a pre-recorded track.

Again, thank you for visiting my blog.
