SILVER SPRING, Md. – A 6-year-old boy at Roscoe R. Nix Elementary School in Silver Spring, Md., was suspended for a day on Dec. 21 for pointing his fingers in a “gun gesture” at a female student and saying “pow.” On Wednesday, the first-grader’s family attorney, Robin Ficker, filed an appeal asking that the suspension be expunged from the boy’s record, and the suspension has been overturned . . .
